Practicing and Processing of Music Rudiments

Online students struggle with music rudiments because they essentially read about music instead of experience music. My plan is to create an online learning environment that specifically addresses the musical rudiments from the text (such as rhythm), but through alternative media such as video, interactive assessments, and a practice environment where students are encouraged to make mistakes and learn from them. Each topic will have before-and-after assessments where students can test their knowledge and then further explore the supportive alternative media. These assessments will be key in determining the effectiveness of the course materials.
