Martinez, Randall - Research Abstract
Comparisons of Self-Efficacy Components and Performance Outcomes of Students in Traditional and Online Psychology Courses
Instructors blind to the study's purpose will instruct traditional and online versions of the same semester length courses. This will be a pre-test/post-test, blocked, quasi-experimental design. Tests will consist of performance and learning variables specific to the content of the course, self-efficacy measures, and demographic/academic profiles of the students. Measures will be administered to students via email and/or face-to-face. Instructors will provide anonymous performance data including grades, exam scores, retention rates and success rates. Data will be analyzed using multivariate statistics. Reported will be comparisons in self-efficacy and performance measures and correlations of those measures.
