Marina Brodskaya, Romy Thiele - Research Abstract

Did It Work?

Our project is to investigate the effects of a learning community on the students’ academic and workplace success. English as a Second Language course was combined with a computer application course. Keyboarding and word processing skills were used in daily assignments. We have identified students who will participate in focus groups and on-line survey. Both will provide us with information on whether the learning community has had any effect on their academic planning and achievement, workplace/career preparation and community involvement.

Focus Group

Facilitator: Marina and Romy
